| https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q6p11TrVOrERecorded on December 11, 1949 in Cincinnati and released as Mercury single #6247. This was the Foggy Mountain Boys first recording of the song, and possibly one of Scruggs' best reditions. Earl Scruggs-banjo; Lester Flatt-Guitar; Curly Seckler-Mando; Benny Sims-Fiddle; Howard Watts-Bass. The first break is three sections long, sweet! then Listen to that second break, 4 sections of banjo awesomness, 2 of which are high parts! The third break high section might sound like Earl killed the string(s) more. Is that true or just me? What you guys think? Either way, all due respect to Earl. God sure gave that man a talent and it shows in recordings like this. | |
